Welcome

Welcome to the Bathampton Cricket Club

Usually I would say something witty and abusive but I can’t be arsed – bloody lethargy brought on watching a dictator blowing up innocents as the world watches, I guess.

Sod it, here’s the site….

About Sloths

Welcome to the Bathampton Cricket Club website, home of the Bathamptons Sloths. It would not be a stretch to say that we are, probably, one of the best teams in Bathampton. Yet, despite our incredible lack of cricketing skills, we remain a modest and friendly club that likes to put an emphasis on the social, as well as competitive, qualities of cricket.

Being “Sloth” requires more than occasional homage, its not just a way of life, it is the harmony of disharmony, achieved only when a Sloth understands that mind body and soul are beyond control, comprehension and co-ordination.

…Sloth haiku:

I can not get up,
Body fused with the bed.
I will sloth it off. .

We have a growing fixture list of over thirty ‘friendlies’ in the summer and enjoy competing in the Bath indoor cricket league each winter. We’re very lucky to play our home fixtures at the King Edward School sports ground, on the banks of the Kennet and Avon Canal and surrounded by the glorious Limply Stoke Valley. Cricket, beautiful countryside and beer – what a great way to spend a summer evening! If you are interested in playing for us or arranging a fixture against us please do not hesitate to get in touch.
