INDOOR SEASON DRAWS TO CLOSE

A big thanks to all those who helped us maintain face in the indoor league this year and to Johny Lewis. Special mention should be made to young “turncoat” Laurie, who showed good form playing for Warminster.

Sloths made their usual slow start to League, aided by His Excellency and offspring. Mid-way through the season form and players dropped. Towards the end most had lost the will to live and still more had retired to hibernate properly.

We did have the one superb victory when the other team didn’t show, though we almost threw it at the last moment.

In terms of this years Cup, Sloths made it through to the quarter finals as to quote the Chron “Best Losers”. Kinda sums it up.

CONGRATULATIONS SDS

He got married, finally. Condolences to Debby.

MADIGAN PROMOTION

Mad-eye has now successfully made the leap from C to B team.
Mainly due to his excellent match reports, not his cricket.

FRESHMEAT SCARE

Where is Johnny Fresh?
Many sloths are asking. Some even care.
Salmonella? Bovine spongiform encephalopathy?
Most of us wish him a slow but successful recovery.

SLOTH CAPTAIN GETS BALLS SIGNED BY CHAMP

El Capitino himself hopes to Roger Federer in Germany this weekend.
“Its been a dream of mine, to meet the great man and hopefully have my balls signed” he said.
We’re promised pictures.

Hewston drops a golden one

Congratulations to Rich Hewston with the arrival of Parker David Hewston, who arrived Saturday afternoon, weighing in at 8lbs. Mum and baby doing well after a short labour.
Hewston has so far, force-fed Parker with Aston Villa and England / NZ Test highlights and the poor little bugger was born in Frome – perfect Sloth material.

Stuart discovers East and West

Newcomer Sloth Stuart again renewed his claim for Sloth Keeper last week with a stunning performance against the Railway Taverners in Bradford on Avon. Stuart having missed the fact that the game was an away leg, cycled from Oldfield Park to the ground. Called the skipper, realised the mistake and cycled half way to Bristol before consulting a map. Either mistaking Keynsham for Bradford on Avon or East for West. This stunning lack of IQ nows places Stuart at the top of the leader board of Sloths qualifying for keeper.

Don’t they grow up fast?

Congratulations, also, to little Matt Crawley who recently celebrated his 21st birthday in Prague, which, I understand, is somewhere beyond Chippenham! Matt, Steve and ‘renaissance man’ Barry all got up close and personal with Czech culture through a weekend of cultural activities including sight seeing and tasting of local produce. The rest of the team look forward to hearing their views on how the counter-reformation influenced work of Peter Johannes Brand.
